How it works

Three steps, about a second

There is no queue, no rendering job and no email to confirm. The whole thing is one upload and one answer.

  1. Drop in a photo

Drag an image onto the uploader or pick one from your device. One clear, front-facing face gives the best read.

  2. The model looks

The photo is resized to 128 pixels in your browser, sent over an encrypted connection, and passed through the Lucentage network.

  3. Read the estimate

You get an age in about a second. The image is dropped as soon as the answer is sent.

Echolens Ratings

Guessing your age is fun.
Picking the right photo matters.

Echolens Ratings scores your profile photos out of 10 with a model trained on more than 100,000 portraits, so you can tell which shot actually lands before you post it. It is the same idea as this page, pointed at the question people actually care about: which of these should I post?

  • Scores any profile photo from 0 to 10 in seconds
  • Trained on more than 100,000 real portraits
  • Compare several shots and see which one wins
  • Tuned for dating apps, socials and professional profiles
  • Photos are rated, never stored or shared

Why Lucentage

Built to be fast, free and forgettable

Forgettable in the good way: the site holds nothing about you once you close the tab.

  • Genuinely free

No account, no credit card, no trial that expires. Run it once or ten thousand times.

  • Nothing is stored

Photos are held in memory for the length of one request and never written to disk, logged or used for training.

  • Fast by construction

Images are downscaled to 128 pixels before they leave your device, so a typical upload is a few kilobytes and the estimate itself takes about two milliseconds.

  • One honest number

An apparent age and nothing else. No invented confidence score dressing up a single forward pass as more than it is.

  • Built by EchoLensa Aesthetic

From the company behind Echolens Ratings — the same obsession with what a face communicates in a photograph, applied to age instead of appeal.

  • Works on any device

A static site with no framework bloat: it opens instantly on an old phone and on a flaky connection.

Accuracy

What the number actually means

Lucentage predicts apparent age — how old a face looks — which is not always the age on someone’s passport. On standard benchmarks the model lands within about four years of a person’s real age most of the time, which is the right way to read any single result: a number with a few years of give in it, not a measurement.

It does best on sharp, evenly lit, front-facing photos of adults. Accuracy falls off with extreme angles, sunglasses, heavy filters, low light, motion blur and very small faces. Like every model trained on human faces, its error is not perfectly even across ages and demographics, so treat a single estimate as a data point rather than a verdict.

Lucentage is not an age-verification service.

  • For the best read
  • One face, looking near the camera
  • Even lighting, no strong backlight
  • Face fills a decent part of the frame
  • No sunglasses or heavy filters
  • Sharp focus — avoid motion blur

FAQ

Questions people ask

Is Lucentage really free?

Yes. The age estimator is free to use with no account, no credit card and no usage cap. It is made by EchoLensa Aesthetic Inc., and it exists partly to show what our photo models can do.

How accurate is the age estimate?

On standard benchmarks the model lands within about four years of a person’s real age most of the time. Accuracy is highest for clear, well-lit, front-facing photos of adults, and drops for extreme angles, heavy makeup, sunglasses, low light or very small faces. Treat the result as an estimate, never as proof of age.

Do you store or train on my photos?

No. Your photo is processed in memory for the duration of a single request and discarded as soon as the estimate is returned. It is never written to disk, never logged, never shared and never used to train the model.

Can I use this to verify someone’s age?

No. Lucentage is a statistical estimate for entertainment, research and product prototyping. It is not an identity or age-verification system, and it must not be used to make decisions about a person’s access to age-restricted goods, services or content.

Which of my photos should I actually post?

Lucentage only tells you how old a face looks, which is one small piece of the picture. Echolens Ratings — our separate profile-photo product — answers the question people usually mean: it scores a photo out of 10 using a model trained on more than 100,000 portraits, so you can compare shots and post the strongest one.

What photo works best?

A sharp, evenly lit photo showing one face looking roughly at the camera, with the face taking up a decent portion of the frame. Avoid sunglasses, heavy filters, motion blur and strong backlighting.

Which image formats can I upload?

JPEG, PNG, WebP and AVIF, up to 10 MB. Larger photos are automatically resized in your browser before upload, so there is no need to shrink them first.

Does it work on more than one face?

It reads the whole frame rather than detecting individual faces, so a photo with several people gives one blended estimate rather than one per person. Crop to the face you are curious about for a clean read.

Who makes Lucentage?
